New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, seeks a GIS Technician I to maintain GIS maps of the gas distribution system and support engineering with AutoCAD drawings. The role involves field data collection, creating precise maps, and producing high-quality drawings for construction and operations.

Qualifications include an associate degree in CAD/technical drawing or 3+ years GIS experience, proficiency in ArcGIS 10 Desktop, AutoCAD 2022+, and ArcFM.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD or technical drawing, or 3+ years GIS experience.
• Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS 10 Desktop with digitizing/editing in a geometric network.
• Knowledge of GPS equipment and peripherals is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD (2022+) and ArcFM is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and communicate well.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Digitizing and limited field work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain gas facilities maps and detail records in GIS.
• Support field investigations and GPS data collection.
• Create high-quality construction drawings using AutoCAD from field conditions and plans.
• Provide mark-up drawings for municipalities and engineering firms.
• Produce map products for presentations and departments.
