Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a GIS Staff Technician to support data capture, real-time reporting, and geoprocessing for large energy generation and transmission projects. You will collaborate with civil, structural, and construction teams, assist GIS Coordinators, perform daily quality checks, and develop ArcGIS Pro/Online solutions.

Office-based role; you must be proficient with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, ArcGIS Dashboards, and Python scripting,

Qualifications

• GIS Certification OR Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 1 year experience using ArcGIS in a GIS Technician role with cartography and spatial analysis
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
• Experience writing/operating Python scripts to automate processes

Responsibilities

• Assist in set up and maintenance of GIS data capture/tracking projects
• Attend meetings related to project set-up/maintenance/delivery
• Interface with clients and QISG Project Management to determine project support needs
• Perform daily quality checks on tools, maps, or outputs and troubleshoot issues
• Build Survey123 forms and web maps for data collection
• Report weekly activities to GIS Manager
• Research updates that may impact tools/outputs
• Run and manage Python scripts to automate workflows
• Provide daily technical support to field staff
• Support other GIS requests within Civil Engineering group
