An established industry player is seeking a dedicated GIS Technician to support municipal projects through field data collection and GIS data management. In this role, you will utilize advanced mobile GIS and GNSS technology to ensure accurate mapping of essential municipal assets. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of the city's GIS databases, while also providing training and support to field personnel. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the community's infrastructure and engage with various city departments, all within a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting staff and management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS projects and datasets. The role emphasizes field data collection and verification using mobile GIS and GNSS equipment to ensure accurate mapping of municipal assets. Responsibilities include editing and creating GIS data, conducting fieldwork, and providing guidance on data quality assurance, with a primary focus on supporting general GIS functions for the entire municipality.

Minimum Qualifications | |
Education and Experience Requirements | A high school diploma or GED is required. Six months of technical experience in GIS, CAD, surveying, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. |
Licenses or Certifications | Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license or be able to obtain one. |
