Job summary

Specialist Staffing Group seeks a GIS Technician to support relocation and redesign of power facilities for DOT projects. You will create maps, overlays, and data extracts using MicroStation, and manage GIS data in an ESRI database.

The role requires entering, processing, and maintaining power facilities assets within the GIS system. Candidates should have a GIS background with ArcGIS experience; CAD skills and knowledge of power distribution are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates/ Bachelor’s in GIS or Geography preferred.
• 3+ years of full-time GIS work experience required.
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software required; ArcGIS Pro a plus.
• CAD experience including AutoCAD is a plus.
• Power Distribution knowledge is preferred.

Job description

Support Distribution Centralized Engineering primarily with relocation and redesign of Power facilities for DOT project conflicts. Create map products, overlays, and data extracts utilizing Bentley's MicroStation software. Create, edit and extract GIS data. Responsible for inputting, processing, and maintenance of Power facilities and Equipment assets in an ESRI GIS database.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates Degree or Certificate in GIS is a plus
• Bachelor's degree (Geography, GIS, or similar field), GIS Certificate
• or at least 3 years of full time GIS work experience is required
• Power Distribution knowledge is preferred
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software require d; experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software is a plus
• Competency with standard computer software, to ge is a plus include Microsoft Office suite is required
• Compatible working in a team environment is required
• Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus
• Electric Utility GIS Technician Experience is Preferred
• Centralized GIS Technician Experience is a Plus
• Experience using GIS Software such as ArcFM, AutoCAD, ESRI ArGIS Pro and Python.
