Job summary

Consulting Solutions in Indiana is seeking a GIS Technician to maintain and support the company’s GIS system for electric distribution assets. You will post, update, and maintain asset data, ensuring it stays accurate and usable as the system of record.

You will review design drawings and maps, model assets in GIS, perform QA/QC, resolve data discrepancies, and collaborate with work order owners, designers, engineers, and field staff to gather missing information and ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years GIS experience required.
• GIS or related technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and maintain geospatial data used as the utility system's system of record.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve GIS data issues and discrepancies.
• Perform QA/QC activities to ensure GIS data accuracy and completeness.
• Correct data quality errors and verify compliance with GIS business rules and standards.
• Communicate with Work Order Owners, Designers, Engineers, and Field personnel to obtain missing information.

Contract duration:

3-year contract, possibility of extension or conversion

Required Qualifications

• Strong background and demonstrated experience in ESRI products preferred.
• Experience in Smallworld preferred.
• Utility experience preferred. GIS or related technical degree preferred.
