Job summary

Bow Wave LLC is seeking a GIS Specialist (Production) to coordinate with vendors, oversee GIS technicians, and ensure data backup and integrity across project databases, maps, and reports.

The role requires strong ArcGIS Pro skills, Python/Arcade/ModelBuilder experience, and the ability to work independently within an interdisciplinary GIS team.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
• 3+ years of Python, Arcade, and/or ModelBuilder experience.
• Completion of ESRI training courses within the last 2 years may substitute for some experience.

Job description

GIS Specialist (Production):

Coordinates with hardware or software vendors to ensure problem free hardware/software environment. Implements quality control procedures.

Oversees all procedures performed by associate specialists and data technicians.

Monitor and ensure proper data backups.

Approve and release final product databases, maps and reports when appropriate and as delegated by the Service Center Manager.

Assists Service Center Manager and Assistant Manager in preparing and implementing user and project setup, accounting, and security.

Performs mapping and database management functions on a variety of Reclamation projects.

Creates schemas and workflow procedures for the enterprise operation.

Manages various data collection technologies.

Must have the ability to work independently, as well as within an interdisciplinary GIS Team.

In addition to the items outlined for GIS Specialists, the suggested minimum training and education includes the following (NOTE: Comparable work experience is acceptable):

1. BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
2. 3 years of more of Python, Arcade, and/or Modelbuilder.
3. Successful completion of any combination of the following ESRI training courses within the last two (2) years may be substituted for some of the following experience and/or time requirements:
   1. Current ArcGIS Pro.
   2. Building Geodatabases or like coursework.
   3. Cartographic production.
   4. ESRI 3D Creation/Analysis or Visualization coursework.
   5. Modernizing field workflows using Fields for ArcGIS.
   6. Demonstrated working knowledge of ArcGIS software suite to include ArcPro and Spatial Analyst.
   7. Demonstrated geography, mapping, and cartography skills.
   8. Experience with ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE configuration is desired.
   9. ArcGIS Online administration.
