The City of Prescott is seeking a GIS Specialist in the Public Works emphasis within the Information Technology Department. The GIS employee, reporting to the GIS Coordinator, plays a crucial role in managing public works infrastructure data. This position primarily involves maintaining and enhancing GIS data for sewer, water, stormwater, and pavement networks. Additionally, the employee will provide direct support to public works staff using the enterprise asset management (EAM) system, perform in-depth data analysis for official reports, and generate essential maps for various project deliverables.
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. A degree or certificate in GIS, Engineering, Geography, or a related field is preferred. While one year of professional experience is desirable, we encourage recent graduates to apply if they can demonstrate relevant experience gained through internships, projects, or coursework. Candidates should preferably have knowledge of public works infrastructure, systems management, and asset management concepts. If using education as a primary qualification, please describe relevant coursework.
