Job summary

North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex seeks an entry-level planning assistant. You will compile and summarize project information, assist with land-use and demographic data, and maintain data systems under supervision in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Must be attending an accredited college or university in a degree-seeking program during employment.
• No work experience required.
• At least one year of school-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Working with supervisor to compile and summarize project information for planning studies
• Assisting with the collection, process, and analysis of land-use, transportation, and demographic data
• Entering data and maintaining spreadsheets, files, and other information systems
• Working with supervisor to create and edit maps, and process spatial and tabular data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS/ESRI ArcGIS Pro)
• Drafting and preparing reports, presentations, checklists, documents, public outreach content, and education materials for supervisor review
• Working with supervisor to perform quality control on completed work
