Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a GIS Intern in Richardson, TX to support utility data management. The internship focuses on GIS mapping, data conversion, database development, and field data collection across transportation, water, and stormwater infrastructure.

The position runs from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with full-time hours (40 hours/week). Interns are paid hourly, and Halff does not provide housing for internships. Apply with your resume to be considered for all openings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or another GIS-related field
• Familiarity with fundamental GIS concepts (editing, topology, spatial queries, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and suggest workflow improvements
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality results

Responsibilities

• Map production, data integration, and data validation workflows for utility GIS projects
• Convert CAD to GIS and gather utility asset records and plans
• Create and edit GIS files and analyze spatial relationships within utility networks
• Support data quality review, asset inventory management, and technical documentation
