Hourly Rate: $19.31

This is an entry-level technical, part-time position. An individual in this position will be responsible for assisting the GIS Division with daily requests, data entry, review, and data collection.

Essential Job Functions

• Edit and manage GIS data layers in a multiuser geodatabase.
• Add/Correct the data tabular information
• Create maps, charts, and diagrams for the requests.
• Review, audit, and clean up GIS data for accuracy.
• Digitize/Collect other data as needed for city infrastructure data.
• Other related duties as assigned
• Possibility of field work with GPS equipment

Minimum Requirements

• Current master’s level or undergraduate student with at least one year of relevant coursework and applied experience.
• Self-motivated problem solver capable of working as part of a team.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver's license required. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee within two working days of receipt.

Work is primarily performed in climate-controlled office environment. Physical demands are sedentary in nature with prolonged sitting. Work causes fatigue of eyes, fingers or other facilities because of fairly continuous use of motor senses.

Part-time employees working a schedule of less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for City benefits or participation in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). Employees in these positions participate in a Public Agency Retirement Services (PARS) plan as an alternative to Social Security.
