Job summary

City of Rowlett is seeking an entry-level, part-time GIS aide to support the GIS Division with daily requests, data entry, review, and data collection.

You will edit GIS data layers, add and correct tabular information, create maps and diagrams, and audit data for accuracy in a climate-controlled office with potential fieldwork using GPS equipment.

Qualifications

• Current master's level or undergraduate student with at least one year of relevant coursework and applied experience.
• Self-motivated problem solver capable of working as part of a team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Hourly Rate: $19.31

This is an entry-level technical, part-time position. An individual in this position will be responsible for assisting the GIS Division with daily requests, data entry, review, and data collection.

• Review, audit, and clean up GIS data for accuracy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

• Valid driver's license required. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee within two working days of receipt.

Work is primarily performed in climate-controlled office environment. Physical demands are sedentary in nature with prolonged sitting. Work causes fatigue of eyes, fingers or other facilities because of fairly continuous use of motor senses.
