The City of High Point Public Services Department is offering a GIS Intern position to support municipal asset inventory and infrastructure mapping. You will assist with GPS data collection, photo documentation, and updating GIS databases for water, sewer, stormwater, and street systems.
Ideal candidates will have a valid driver's license, comfort with common computer tools, and a willingness to work outdoors. Training is provided to build GIS and field skills during the four-week program.

The hourly rate for this position is $16.14 per hour.
The City of High Point Public Services Department is seeking a GIS Intern to assist with municipal asset inventory and infrastructure mapping. The intern will support the GIS Analyst and GIS Technician with field data collection and GIS database updates related to the City’s water, sewer, stormwater, and street infrastructure systems. Essential Tasks & Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include GPS data collection, photo documentation, and inventory of public assets, as well as assisting with updates to infrastructure maps and GIS databases. The intern may also support document scanning, data organization, and other field-related assignments. This internship provides experience with GIS, GPS surveying, and municipal infrastructure management while contributing to the City’s efforts to maintain accurate records of critical public assets. Four weeks of on-the-job training will be provided to help you learn the role and build valuable professional skills.
