Job summary

HDR, Inc. is offering a Summer 2027 GIS Internship in our Resources Business group with focus on real-world projects in the United States (Texas). You will work under supervision of a Project Manager, applying standard engineering techniques and GIS software on active projects.

Preferred candidates are pursuing related degrees, have a GPA of 3.0+, and are staying local/regional for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, temporary internship with mentorship and exposure to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

In the role of GIS Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Participate in real-world experience on exciting projects

• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference given to local/regional candidates pursuing a Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences Degree, or closely related field during Summer 2027.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
