Audubon is currently seeking a GIS Developer to join our team. The GIS Developer will excel in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive geospatial solutions using cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, they will play a key role in creating, analyzing, and maintaining the spatial data production portfolio across the company. They will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Account, the GIS Developer is responsible for processing data collected by field crews, communicating with project teams, reporting progress to the Project Manager, and mentoring junior GIS analysts. The role is pivotal in building the foundation for our deliverables.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Review and process files and data from field crews daily.
  2. Collaborate with field personnel to provide feedback on field data and documentation.
  3. Mentor junior GIS analysts.
  4. Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise GIS applications and data integration solutions.
  5. Customize and develop GIS viewers for field services and pipeline engineering, including MOC tools and automation.
  6. Update and maintain spatial databases, focusing on SQL queries and maintenance.
  7. Develop scripts and workflows to automate repetitive GIS tasks, enhancing efficiency.
  8. Customize GIS software and tools to meet company requirements, adding functionalities as needed.
  9. Retrieve, process, clean, and analyze data from various sources, including web services.
  10. Create spatial analysis algorithms to manage, analyze, and visualize data.
  11. Integrate various datasets into the GIS system, ensuring data accuracy and compatibility.
  12. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications.
  13. Administer GIS infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  14. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access levels.
  15. Oversee spatial data organization, storage, and backup, implementing data management best practices.
  16. Manage software licenses and subscriptions to ensure compliance and resource optimization.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  2. Preferred field experience.
  3. Experience with Trimble GPS Equipment, Total Station, Level, Trimble Business Center, and AutoCAD.
  4. 5+ years of related experience.
  5. Proficiency in developing geospatial applications using languages like C#, JavaScript, Python, JSON/XML.
  6. Knowledge of relational database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Esri Geodatabases.
  7. Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro products.
  8. Excellent communication skills.
  9. Ability to interpret business needs and develop applications accordingly.
  10. Experience with DevOps practices.
  11. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
