Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years GIS experience.
• Experience coordinating GIS projects and working with multiple departments preferred.
• Experience with ESRI technologies including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online/Portal required.
• Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise/Server environments preferred.
• Knowledge of spatial databases (e.g., SQL Server) and data governance principles required.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python is preferred.
• Familiarity with web technologies such as JavaScript or C# is a plus.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and manages GIS operations, services, and projects.
• Establishes and enforces GIS data standards, workflows, and procedures.
• Coordinates and supports County departments, municipalities, and external partners in GIS projects and data initiatives.
• Assists the IT/GIS Director with strategic planning and GIS program development.
• Administers and maintains the County’s enterprise GIS environment including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online/Portal.
• Publishes and manages map and feature services for County departments and public websites.
• Designs, maintains, and secures enterprise geodatabases (SQL Server / ArcSDE).
• Assists other GIS staff in maintaining and updating GIS data layers.
• Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with County and State GIS standards.
• Develops scripts and custom tools using Python.
• Creates and maintains GIS web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Implements dashboards and field data collection apps using ArcGIS Online/Experience Builder.
• Performs advanced spatial analysis and produces maps, reports, and visualizations.
• Manages GIS data supporting the 911 dispatch center and NG911 compliance.
• Coordinates addressing, street centerline, and MSAG updates with partners.
• Serves as the County’s primary liaison for regional and state GIS coordination.
