Job summary

The City of St Joseph is seeking a GIS Analyst to support staff with data analysis, asset management, and CAD drawings. The role emphasizes GIS and asset management technology, with duties to prepare maps, drawings, graphs, and reports.

You will develop and maintain GIS systems, assist in Capital Improvement planning, train staff in new technologies, and coordinate with contractors on software and hardware developments while ensuring data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Computer Science or Engineering or an Associate of Science with at least two GIS courses.
• Three years GIS working experience or a minimum of two years of related GIS management experience.
• Certification in computer maintenance management software or GIS software administration; Certification REQUIRED with application.
• Within one year from date of hire, successfully complete ESRI Training.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GIS and asset management system.
• Collect and analyze technical data and recommend corrective actions related to the City’s asset management structure.
• Analyze infrastructure performance data and provide risk failure analysis for capital improvement funding.
• Provide maintenance and support for GIS and asset management systems related to utility billing, meter reading, SCADA, work orders, and payment systems.
• Assist with Capital Improvement Program planning and development projects.
• Train field staff and office personnel in using new computer technologies.
• Coordinate with the Informational Systems Department on emergent technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational computer application issues.
• Develop and maintain contacts with contractors and vendors on software and hardware developments.
