Job summary

Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. seeks a Software Developer to build, improve, and support AssetAlly, our GIS-driven asset management platform used by municipal clients to manage infrastructure data, field workflows, work orders, dashboards, and long-term planning.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with public works staff, GIS specialists, engineers, and project managers to deliver practical solutions for infrastructure challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS or GIS.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with modern JS/TS frameworks and APIs.
• Familiarity with AWS, SQL/NoSQL, REST APIs, and Python.
• Understanding of GIS data structures and municipal workflows.
• Ability to write maintainable, testable code and communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications and workflows for AssetAlly
• Build reliable, maintainable software for municipal asset management, field data collection, reporting
• Translate client needs into practical technical solutions and troubleshoot complex application issues
• Develop and maintain databases, improve workflows, and automate processes
• Design and implement data ingestion and automation tools for analysts
• Collaborate across teams on product improvement and client success
• Participate in technical planning, testing, release coordination, and support
• Stay current with web development, cloud infrastructure, and GIS best practices
