Job summary

The City of Yuba City is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to design, plan, and produce geographic information using automated GIS mapping systems. You will prepare data, analyses, maps, and mapping applications for City departments and the public, and administer GIS projects including field data collection and web-based GIS applications.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in GIS or a closely related field and three years of GIS experience.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of recent full-time experience in a GIS-related field.
• Bachelor's degree equivalent in geographic information systems, geography, cartography, engineering, planning, computer science, information systems, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans, and produces geographic information using automated GIS mapping systems.
• Prepares data, analysis, maps, and mapping applications for City departments and the general public.
• Organizes and administers GIS projects and activities, including field data collection, web-based GIS applications, and database analysis.
• Provides training in GIS software use and responds to complex user support problems; coordinates activities with other departments and outside agencies.
