Job summary

The GIS Analyst I at the Town of Windsor (CO) will handle data preparation, analysis, mapping, and reporting for the town’s GIS. You’ll work under the GIS Supervisor within the IT Department to deliver service-oriented support and reliable GIS solutions.

Essential duties include data management, spatial analysis, map creation, dashboards, and documentation, with opportunities for project involvement and user training.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of related GIS or IT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography or GIS preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise/Online, AutoCAD, Python, SQL or related software.
• Experience with Trimble GPS hardware.
• Experience with project execution and meeting deadlines.
• Experience with GIS applications in Windows and TCP/IP networks.
• Experience in IT field desirable.
• Experience with field data collection methods.

Responsibilities

• DATA: Determines data for uses, mines and prepares data, QA/QC, queries and automated data manipulations.
• ANALYSIS: Performs basic geoprocessing, spatial analysis and descriptive summaries.
• MAPS: Creates static and dynamic maps and interactive web maps; designs cartographic products.
• REPORTS: Produces visualizations and dashboards; develops internal presentations.
• DOCUMENTATION: Develops methodology documentation and data standards.
• INFRASTRUCTURE: Troubleshoots hardware/software; provides GIS user support.
• PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Creates and manages basic project documents; gathers requirements.
• USER SUPPORT: Diagnose and resolve end-user problems; provide training.
