Job summary

Roux is seeking an entry-level GIS and Database Analyst to assist with environmental and engineering data management. The role requires intermediate to advanced experience with ArcGIS (ArcPro) and a relevant bachelor's degree.

The Analyst will prepare figures, manage data compliance, and support project staff while working in the Oakland, CA office at least three days per week. A strong attention to detail and analytical skills are vital.

Position Overview

Roux is looking to add an entry‑level GIS and Database Analyst to assist the GIS and Database Manager with environmental, chemical, and engineering data management for analysis, evaluation, generation, and presentation. Experience with ESRI ArcGIS (ArcPro) at an intermediate to advanced level is required. The candidate will work from the Oakland, CA office at least three days per week.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with relevant ArcGIS coursework.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical judgment, and problem‑solving skills.
• High initiative, good interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure within tight schedules.
• ArcGIS (ArcPro) experience at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Experience building Field Maps and Webmaps in ArcGIS Online (AGOL) is preferred.
• Proficiency using MS Excel to manipulate and organize data sets for GIS import or reporting.
• Familiarity with MS Access or SQL is a plus; database experience is not required.

Essential Duties

• Prepare report‑quality figures in ArcGIS.
• Prepare Field Maps and Webmaps in AGOL.
• Research and obtain state and federal geospatial data as needed.
• Ensure compliance of electronic deliverables with state and federal reporting requirements.
• Digitize field data for inclusion in the geodatabase and figures.
• Perform data management tasks as directed by the GIS and Database Manager.
• Prepare basic tables for data analysis using MS Access and/or MS Excel.
• Manage electronic data deliverables consistent with state requirements.
• Provide technical support to project staff within tight schedules and on‑budget.
• Generate and format figures, tables, charts, and graphs for reporting.

Salary and Benefits

Base Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000. Compensation may vary based on experience, market conditions, education, certifications, skills, and internal equity. The position is eligible for performance bonuses based on individual performance and firm profitability.
