A leading technology service provider is seeking a GIS Analyst in New York City to support geospatial data management and infrastructure projects. The role involves creating accurate records using advanced GIS software, collaborating with various teams, and providing actionable reports. Preferred candidates will have advanced degrees or certifications in GIS, experience with telecom GIS projects, and strong technical skills in ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD. This position offers a hybrid work mode with three days onsite.

Job Summary – GIS Analyst At NYC

• Support Geospatial Data: Create, migrate, and maintain accurate geospatial records for Con Edison’s telecommunication and data network infrastructure using Ericsson GIS Software.
• Data Migration & Infrastructure: Convert and migrate network infrastructure data (OSP/ISP fiber, manholes, vaults, equipment, circuit layout records, etc.) into GIS systems.
• Mapping & Analysis: Review, update, and generate land maps; compile geographic data from multiple sources; analyze spatial relationships and produce actionable maps and reports.
• GIS Application Development: Build and upgrade GIS applications, including evaluating and recommending upgrades for Ericsson Network Engineer Map Based GIS platform.
• Ensure Data Integrity: Maintain high standards for database accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all GIS systems.
• Cross-team Collaboration: Communicate GIS insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; collaborate closely with IT, engineering, and contractor teams.
• Reporting & Documentation: Provide clear, timely, and actionable reports and maps to support operational and engineering decision-making.
• Research: Locate and obtain existing databases to enhance network records and ensure comprehensive data coverage.
• Technical Proficiency: Utilize ESRI ArcGIS, Ericsson Network Engineer Map Based GIS, and/or AutoCAD for mapping and data management.
• Telecom Infrastructure Knowledge: Understand both Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber infrastructure and network connectivity.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree or certifications (GISP, Esri), experience in large-scale telecom GIS projects, expertise with geospatial database management, and demonstrated leadership in GIS application upgrades.
