Job summary

Philomath High School seeks an experienced Wrestling Coach to lead and develop the wrestling program, coach athletes, and coordinate with staff to ensure safety and success.

You will recruit and supervise coaches, manage practice schedules, and oversee equipment and budgeting while upholding school policies and community relations.

Qualifications

• Wrestling coaching/teaching experience required.
• Knowledge of wrestling and playing experience.
• Knowledge of athletic events and scheduling.
• Understanding of OSAA rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with high school students.
• Ability to work with parents, Booster Club and fundraising events.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• NFHS certified.
• Mini bus/van driving clearance and valid driver's license.
• Must complete a fingerprint-based Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach techniques and skills for the Wrestling program.
• Recruit, evaluate and assign assistant coaches to appropriate program levels.
• Teach character development and leadership skills.
• Ensure athlete safety and prevent bullying, harassment, and hazing.
• Coordinate a practice schedule for the season.
• Coordinate upkeep for Wrestling practice and game facilities.
• Attend all Wrestling competitions in preparation for State Competition.
• Organize awards for Sports Awards Night.
• Prepare and submit yearly budget and order necessary equipment.
• Complete paperwork for inventory, budgeting, records, etc.
• Supervise fundraising activities before and during the school year.
• Be a positive role model.

Salary:

• Based on experience, FTE and placement on the Licensed Co-Curricular salary schedule.
