Job summary

Philomath School District seeks a Wrestling coach to lead the high school program, recruit and supervise assistants, and develop student-athlete character. You will coordinate practice schedules and safety, oversee facilities, and prepare budgets for equipment and events.

You will also manage fundraising efforts and ensure positive role-model behavior, collaborating with parents and the Booster Club while upholding OSAA rules and school policies.

Qualifications

• Wrestling coaching/teaching experience.
• Wrestling knowledge and playing experience.
• Knowledge of athletic events and scheduling.
• Understanding OSAA rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate and work with high school students.
• Ability to work with parents, Booster Club and fundraising events.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• NFHS certified.
• Mini bus/van driving clearance and valid driver's license.
• Must complete fingerprint-based criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach techniques and skills for the Wrestling program.
• Recruit, evaluate and assign assistant coaches to levels.
• Teach character development and leadership skills.
• Ensure athlete safety, including prevention of bullying, harassment, hazing.
• Coordinate a practice schedule for the season.
• Coordinate upkeep for Wrestling facilities.
• Attend all Wrestling competitions in preparation for State.
• Organize appropriate awards for Sports Awards Night.
• Prepare and submit yearly budget and order equipment.
• Complete paperwork for inventory, budgeting, records, etc.
• Supervise fundraising activities before and during the school year.
• Be a positive role model.

Salary:

• Based on experience, FTE and placement on the Licensed Co-Curricular salary schedule.
