Job summary

Ashland Middle School in Ashland, Oregon is seeking a temporary Girls Wrestling coach to guide and coach students who aspire to excel in the sport under expert guidance.

The role requires prior coaching experience, strong leadership, and a valid first aid/CPR card; NFHS coaching certification is preferred. This is a part-time, seasonal position with 2–8 hours per day during the season.

Qualifications

• Previous experience coaching in the sport and solid leadership skills strongly desired.
• Valid first aid/CPR card is required.
• NFHS coach preferred.

Responsibilities

• Holds or assists organized, supervised practice as the program requires.
• Teaches the skills necessary to participate in the sport.
• Teaches the strategies for participating in the sport.
• Teaches drills and exercises to develop strength, stamina, and speed.
• Assists in developing seasonal goals and daily practice plans.
• Assists in communications with parents, officials, and booster clubs to promote the sport.
• Supervises locker rooms before and after practice.
• Supervises bus trips as required.
• Complies with athletic regulations, league rules, and District policies.
• Attends coaching clinics as requested by the principal, athletic coordinator, or head coach.
• Follows ASD policies and procedures.
• Actively encourages student participation.
• Promotes the ethical values of athletics.
• Maintains positive relationships with staff and community to enhance the sport.
• Assists with care, maintenance, and security of facilities and equipment throughout the season.
• Promotes sportsmanship.
• Develops health and safety standards for all athletes.
• Attends work regularly and is punctual.
• Completes annual online training by the due date.
• Implements decisions within ASD policies and procedures.
• Represents the school and District professionally and resolves conflicts.
