Job summary

Swift Creek Middle in Clayton, NC seeks a dedicated Girls Track Coach to lead, mentor, and develop student-athletes on and off the track. The role emphasizes safety, sportsmanship, academic balance, and community involvement.

Responsibilities include maintaining eligibility paperwork, scheduling, transportation coordination, and collaboration with the Athletic Director and school staff to support district goals for whole-child development through athletics.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent required.
• Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of athletic policies approved by the Johnston County Schools’ Board of Education.
• Knowledgeable of system, state, and conference regulations.
• Ability to organize and supervise athletic team members.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL to transport students and maintain certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide documentation to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility.
• Maintain or acquire coaching prerequisites annually or as they expire listed by NCDPI, NCHSAA, & Johnston County Public Schools.
• Promote the sport within the school through interest meetings and multisport opportunities.
• Maintain medical emergency information and understanding emergency protocols.
• Coordinate transportation and scheduling for games and travels as directed by the Athletic Director.
• Provide communication to the public and maintain good public relations with community members.
