Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of athletic policies and regulations.
• Ability to organize and supervise athletic team members.
• Willingness to obtain CDL and related certifications.
• Knowledgeable of proper administrative command and attendance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide documentation for state and system requirements (physicals, parental consent, eligibility).
• Maintain coaching prerequisites annually per NC guidelines.
• Promote the sport within the school and community.
• Maintain medical emergency information and protocols for athletes.
• Coordinate with administration and Athletic Director on schedules, transportation, and events.
• Communicate with the public and maintain good relations with boosters, parents, officials, and fans.
• Assist Head Coach with pre-season meetings and game/event preparations.
• Monitor student grades and conduct; safeguard equipment and facilities.
• Complete paperwork for injuries within 24 hours and ensure due process when discipline arises.
