Job summary

Required certifications include a Florida teaching certificate or DOE athletic coaching certificate, FHSAA certification, and AED/ CPR certification. Evening/weekend work and a valid Florida driver’s license are necessary.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience is required.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Florida DOE athletic coaching certificate.
• Valid FHSAA certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification (adult and child) from AHA or Red Cross.
• Combination of education, experience, and certifications may be considered.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct regular practice sessions.
• Develop and implement game strategies.
• Teach skills, techniques and rules to athletes.
• Supervise athletes during practices, games and trips.
• Promote discipline, responsibility and sportsmanship.
• Ensure compliance with athletic regulations.
• Maintain team equipment and uniforms.
• Assist with scheduling and facility use.
• Communicate with parents and guardians.
• Mentor athletes on personal development and college opportunities.
• Enforce school policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
