Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, is seeking a part-time Head Girls Softball Coach and PE teacher to lead the varsity program, recruit athletes, schedule opponents, and coach the team.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and has 1–3 years of coaching experience at middle/high school levels, with flexibility to work nights and weekends. A background/fingerprint check plus CPR/First Aid and bus training are required on hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1–3 years experience coaching Girls Softball at middle and high school levels.
• Demonstrate effective coaching skills and knowledge of rules, regulations, and strategies.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with administrators, parents, and students.
• Available to work nights and weekends.
• Background and fingerprint screening required; CPR, First Aid, Bus training and other requirements upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sidwell Friends and the Girls Softball Program professionally during recruiting, training, and coaching.
• Coordinate development and promotion of the program; assess players and assign positions; determine game strategy.
• Organize and schedule practice sessions and drills; direct individual and small group activities.
• Plan preseason meeting with athletes and parents before first game.
• Maintain and secure all equipment and uniforms; comply with league rules and school policies.
