Job summary

Willmar Public Schools is seeking applicants for the position of Middle School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach. The team practices at Willmar Middle School, Monday through Friday after school, with competition on select days.

This contract stipend position runs for the season, with a total pay of $2,668. Applicants should be able to be at the scheduled meeting location by 3:00 pm, and prior high school coaching or playing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to be at the scheduled meeting location by 3:00 pm.
• Experience coaching and/or playing basketball at the high school level is preferred.
• Experience with Google Sheets is preferred.
• Experience with the Bound app is preferred.
• Experience with coaching girls is preferred.
• Basic first aid and CPR training is preferred.
• Background check required for all offers.

Responsibilities

• Coach the Middle School Girls Basketball team.
• Practices held at Willmar Middle School, Monday–Friday 3:00–4:30 PM.
• On home game days, coach duties align with game schedule (approximately 3:00 PM–6:30 PM).
• Season runs approximately October–December 2026.

Schedule (Approximately)

(All dates and times are approximate) Practice starts the first school day back from fall (MEA) break in October, and the season continues until winter (Christmas) break in December. The team practices at Willmar Middle School, Monday through Friday from 3:00-4:30 PM. On home competition days, coaches are typically responsible for the team between 3:00 PM and 6:30 PM. On away competition days, coaches can be responsible for students from as early as 2:00 PM, to as late as 8:30 PM depending on a variety of factors.

Seasonal - Mid October 2026 through Mid December 2026
