Job summary

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Microprocessor Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems in their plant. The ideal candidate should have a Mechatronics degree or equivalent and strong skills in electrical troubleshooting. Responsibilities include assisting operators, maintaining documentation, and helping train associates. Competitive pay commensurate with experience and additional weekend and emergency call-in shifts may be required.

• Understanding of electrical (AC and DC) and control systems.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Microprocessor Technician

Responsibilities:

Maintain electrical, electronic, and computer systems throughout the plant.

1. Maintain documentation on various systems throughout the plant.
2. Assist operators and process engineers in solving quality problems.
3. Participate in one safety sub-committee.
4. Assist contractors in the installation of new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment.
5. Maintain spare electronic equipment and parts.
6. Assist control equipment technicians and or other associates with troubleshooting electrical problems.
7. Help train other shop associates as needed.
8. Participate in on or off-site training as required.

Schedule: Available for call-ins (emergency), Weekend rotations as scheduled, Available to work overtime or other shifts if needed

Knowledge/Skills:

Understanding and troubleshooting of electrical (AC and DC) and control systems

• • Power distribution
  • Relay logic
  • Electrical print reading
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Drive wiring and programming
  • Control equipment including: RTDs, flow meters, D/P cells, I/Ps, load cells, positioners, compensators, etc
  • Voltages up to 600VAC
• Troubleshooting mechanical systems
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Knowledge of general safety procedures including proper PPE and 70e
• Documentation and root cause analysis (5 Why)
• Organization of spare parts inventory

Programs/Systems:

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc)
• PLCs (Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, etc)
• PLC software and ladder logic
• Bus systems
• Drives

Preferred - 2 year Mechatronics or equivalent degree

Pay Rate: $27.54 - $31.58 depending on experience.
