Job summary
Michigan State University in East Lansing seeks a Professional Aide to support Gifted And Talented Education. This on-call, temporary tutor role supports ASCEND and CHAMP programs for academically gifted middle school students, both online and on campus.
Responsibilities include leading or assisting Saturday virtual labs, tutoring English and Math, and coordinating sessions. Applicants should have strong writing, math, and communication skills and be available every Saturday morning.
Qualifications
- Must like to read and write, or do math.
- Must like to work with middle and high school students.
- MSU student applicants must be undergrad freshmen/sophomore/junior for ASCEND.
- MSU student applicants must be undergrad freshmen/sophomore/junior for CHAMP.
- All other applicants must be enrolled in a relevant subject or have relevant job experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead or help lead virtual study labs on Saturdays.
- Lead or help lead Tuesday evenings for the second CHAMP lab.
- Tutor middle or high school students in English or Math curriculum.
