Bowdoin College seeks a Gift Planning Officer to lead identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, focusing on annual, capital, and planned gifts. You will report to the Director of Gift Planning and coordinate with the team to advance Bowdoin’s fundraising objectives.

Responsibilities include developing a strategic plan, maintaining donor relationships, and traveling up to 20–25% for engagement with donors and advisers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Excellent writing and speaking skills.
• Thorough understanding of philanthropy and Bowdoin’s mission.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple programs and projects independently and in teams.
• Goal-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven success in soliciting and closing gifts.
• Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and PG Calc; willing to use technology.
• Ability to discuss complex gift planning concepts with diverse constituents.
• Absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
