Job description

The Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas is a 501(c)3 organization affiliated with the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. The Foundation works with parishes, schools and ministries of the archdiocese to build long-term financial resources. The Gift Planning Consultant position will build and maintain relationships with pastors, individual donors and professional advisors. This person will encourage personal stewardship and general endowment funding through work with Archdiocesan entities and leadership. The position is on-site, full-time, 40-hours per week and requires some evening and weekend hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cultivate assigned portfolio of donors and pastors for identified priorities of the CFNEK.

Assist assigned parishes, schools, and other institutions by providing consultation and general information on fundraising activities, specifically gift planning, endowments and scholarship funds.

Identify potential new business for CFNEK in the area of endowment funds, scholarship funds and donor advised funds.

Create, coordinate and present educational gift planning seminars for assigned institutions.

Coordinate events for the Catholic Advisors Network or the Development Symposiums.

Cultivate a network of local attorneys and financial advisors who can assist donors in the area of establishing a planned gift.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Polished interpersonal skills (sales, presentation) in-group and individual settings.

Verbal and written communication skills including with executive level individuals.

Build and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships.

Highly organized in managing tasks and projects; detail oriented.

Superior event planning and forecasting ability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Non-Profit Administration or related field is preferred.

Minimum (3) years’ relevant work experience in professional management, planning and administering fund-raising programs, preferred.

Intermediate skill level in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Incumbent must be a practicing Catholic, registered in a Catholic parish or faith community and must embrace in word and deed the Church’s teachings on faith and morals as articulated by the Church’s magisterium is required.
