Job summary

United Supermarkets, LLC in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Gift & Home Manager to lead guest relations and drive Ultimate Service in our Gift & Home store.

You will supervise the Dish department, stock and merchandising, schedule staff, coordinate with vendors, attend meetings, and train team members to maintain high standards and achieve sales goals.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma required, college graduate preferred.
• Must be able to work the scheduled shift as needed.
• Experience in a multi-tasking retail environment preferred.
• Ability to manage a department and provide guest service in a fast-paced store.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests.
• Staffing, scheduling, and managing the Dish team during retail hours.
• Oversee all aspects of Dish merchandise, including re-ordering, purchasing, merchandising, and inventory.
• Attend weekly store meetings.
• Handle guest relations and special order requests.
• Maintain team spirit and cooperative attitude.
• Implement Dish merchandising plans and end caps.
• Maintain communications with the Dish Supervisor, Store Director, and other Dish managers.
• Organize purchase orders, packing slips, and related paperwork.
• Maintain clean Dish work area and attractive displays.
• Train/educate on products in Dish.
• Monitor Sales and Gross Profit Goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Gift & Home Manager is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction by building a reputation for Ultimate Service. He/She is an enthusiastic sales leader who efficiently oversees the daily operations of the Gift & Home specialty store.

Key Responsibilities

• When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest
• Responsible for staffing, scheduling and managing the Dish team members during the designated dish retail hours
• Responsible for all aspects of our Dish merchandise. This involves all re-ordering product, some initial purchasing, merchandising the product, maintaining a balanced inventory, implementing sales promotion, working with the Receiving Manager, communicating with vendors, and assisting guests with purchases
• Responsible for attending all weekly store meetings
• Responsible for guest relations and special order guest requests
• Responsible for maintaining team spirit and a cooperative attitude
• Responsible for implementing Dish seasonal merchandising plans within the department and store end caps
• Responsible for maintaining close communications with the Dish Supervisor, the Store Director and all other Dish managers
• Responsible for organizing all purchase orders, packing slips, transfer sheets, invoices and related paperwork
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the Dish work area, the attractive merchandising of displays and the maintenance of the Dish back stock area
• Responsible for training/continuing education regarding products in Dish
• Responsible for monitoring Sales and Gross Profit Goals
• Other duties as assigned by upper management

Key Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma required, college graduate preferred
• The Department Manager is required to work the scheduled work shift as needed to meet the needs of the store guests and team members
• Experience working in a multi-tasking environment - retail experience is preferred
• Ability to manage a department and provide guest service within a fast paced store
• Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting at a height of 5 feet, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs
• Ability to problem solve and think proactively
• Ability to appreciate, understand and sell high-end merchandise and have a pleasant, outgoing personality
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
