Based in Camden, NJ, the GI Unit emphasizes teamwork, patient care, and adherence to manufacturer guidelines. Training is provided to stay current with endoscopy developments and IDX/EPIC systems.

Qualifications

• GI tech experience and/or patient care experience required.
• Must be able to learn IDX and EPIC applications.
• Strong customer service skills; some desk duties required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms and equipment before endoscopic procedures and sterilize after.
• Maintain inventory of endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Ensure equipment functions properly.
• Prepare waiting and recovery rooms or procedure suites.
• Maintain endoscopic equipment including cleaning and calibrating instruments.
• Transport patients per medical personnel instructions.
• Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures.
• Attend training to refresh skills.
• Collect specimens from patients.
• Collaborate with care providers regarding procedures and patients' conditions.
• Stay current on endoscopy developments by reading literature and discussing with colleagues.
