Job summary

The Surgery Center of Ft. Lauderdale is hiring a GI Technician PRN to assist the Registered Nurse in preparing patients for procedures and caring for them post-operation. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of pre/post areas, taking vital signs, and coordinating patient transport.

Ideal candidates are high school graduates with healthcare interest or experience and knowledge of GI procedures, with benefits and professional development opportunities provided by USPI.

Responsibilities

• Checks pre/post op area for cleanliness and orderliness.
• Brings the patient to pre-op area and assists with changing if needed.
• Takes vital signs.
• Ensures pre-op testing, H&P, and necessary paperwork are on chart prior to procedure.
• Transports patients to and from procedure rooms.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Restocks carts.
• Directs family members.
• Includes family/patient in post-op instructions.
• Coordinates patient transportation.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Participates in QAPI, Infection Control and Safety Program.

Required Skills

About the Candidate
