Job summary

Park Creek Surgery Center seeks a GI Technician Medical Assistant for a full-time on-site role under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist physicians during GI procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and GI or Medical Assistant experience; BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable may be preferred. The center values teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• GI Experience preferred, Medical Assistant experience Preferred.
• Current certification in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during GI procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide assistance to the Physician throughout the procedure.
• Support nursing staff as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Jon Summary: under the Director of Nursing and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the GI Tech is responsible for providing assistance to the Physician throughout the procedure.

Education/Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent
• GI Experience preferred, Medical Assistant experience Preferred
• Previous clinical experience in GI procedure room environment Preferred
• Current certification in CPR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
