Job summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a GI Technologist to support patient care in the Endoscopy suite. This role requires applying surgical technology skills and maintaining a safe work environment. The position involves four 10-hour shifts per week, typically daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or NHA is highly desired.
• Previous experience as a GI Technologist preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, policies, and protocols desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing patient care in the Endoscopy suite.
• Maintain a safe work environment and assist with room turnover and instrument processing.
• Provide appropriate instruments, supplies and equipment to the GI Doctor in a timely manner.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities to provide high standard of care for the patient.
• Position the patient according to departmental policy and assist with specimen disposition.

What will you do as a PMC GI Tech:

The GI Technologist applies surgical technology skills to assist in providing patient care in the Endoscopy suite. The GI Technologist assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities. This position works four (4), ten (10) hour shifts per week.

A day in the life of a PMC GI Tech may include:

• Coordinates the multidisciplinary activities required to provide the highest standard of care for the patient including providing a safe environment for the patient.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to the procedure.
• Assists in preparation of patient, assembly of supplies, instruments and equipment as well as proper disposition of all specimens.
• Provides the GI Doctor with appropriate instruments, supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
• Assists with all aspects of room turnover and instrument/equipment processing.
• Assists with positioning of the patient according to departmental policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
