Job summary

Advanced Endoscopy Center in Creve Coeur, MO, part of United Surgical Partners International, Inc. (USPI), seeks a Full Time GI Tech to join our Outpatient GI Center.

You will work with skilled physicians to diagnose and treat GI conditions, delivering clear, patient-friendly care in a collaborative setting. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, assisting during GI and PAIN procedures, maintaining the procedure area, and documenting intra-procedure notes while ensuring patient safety and

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant certification required.
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • 1–3 years GI Lab or Pain Management experience required.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in a busy OR/GI lab.
  • Strong English communication, conscientious and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Render professional care to patients undergoing GI and PAIN management procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies; assist physicians during GI procedures.
  • Maintain and clean the GI procedure area and record intra-procedure notes.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort, and collaborate with staff for smooth operations.

Advanced Endoscopy Center is looking to add a Full Time GI Tech who is a team player to our Outpatient GI Center!

As a GI Tech at Advanced Endoscopy Center, you will have the opportunity to work alongside highly-trained physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and liver disease. You will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch care by providing consultations and services in a clear and understandable manner, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible treatment.

We take pride in our friendly and supportive work environment, where continuity and trust are nurtured through stable and long-lasting relationships with our patients. While we work collaboratively as a group, each patient is assigned a dedicated gastroenterologist, ensuring personalized care and attention.

GI Tech at Advanced Endoscopy Center

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing GI and PAIN management procedures within the surgical center in accordance with established procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff, exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Prepares equipment and anticipates Physician and patient needs for GI procedures. Provides general maintenance of the clinical area and equipment. Oversees the GI procedures and maintains all aspects of the GI procedure area. Assessing patients prior to procedure. Document intra-procedure notes. Assist physician on all GI procedures. Prepares and maintains equipment and supplies in the GI procedure area. Cleans and maintains equipment per Center policy.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Medical assistant certification
  • Certification in Operating Room Technology a plus
  • One to three years previous experience in GI Lab or Pain Management required
  • Current BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to the OR and GI
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly
  • Must be conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy operating room & GI lab environment
  • Must be able to function as a team player
  • Possess the ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both written and verbal
