USPI Crown Point Surgery Center is seeking a motivated GI Tech FT to join a fast-paced ASC environment focused on high-quality patient care. The role offers no on-call, weekend, or holiday shifts and includes comprehensive benefits.

You will assist with equipment, patient care support, and procedural flow under nurse direction. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for GI tech experience and CNA certification.

Qualifications

• One year of GI tech experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification preferred if available.

Responsibilities

• Assists in care, maintenance, preparation, and cleaning of equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Performs equipment safety checks to ensure proper function.
• Assists nurses and physicians during procedures as directed, including specimen collection.
• Maintains stocked rooms and aids in reordering supplies as needed.
• Transports patients and equipment using proper body mechanics.
• Maintains organized files and documentation as required.
• Provides prompt, effective customer service to patients and families.
• Promotes professional growth and participates in training.
• Adheres to OSHA and bloodborne pathogen standards.
• Assists with patient monitor placement as directed by nurses.
• Mentors new technicians and contributes to orientation updates.

We are seeking a motivated GI Tech FT to join our fast‑paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

NO call, weekends, or holidays!

Position Responsibilities

• Assists in the care, maintenance, preparation, and cleaning of equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Perform equipment safety checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly, per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Provides assistance to nurses and physicians during procedure per the nurses’ direction, including but not limited to collecting specimens.
• Maintains stocked rooms and recognizes the need for reordering supplies. Assists purchaser with reordering needed supplies.
• Transports and transfers patients and equipment using recommended body mechanics.
• Maintains files and documents in an organized system as needed.
• Responds to patients and their families promptly using demonstrated effective customer service skills.
• Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
• Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
• Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
• Assists in the placement of patient monitors per the nurses' directions (ie, BP cuffs, pulse oximeter, EKG leads, etc.).
• Mentors new technicians and recommends changes to orientation as necessary.
• Assists with the maintenance of the physical environment of the Center.
• Responsible for communication with equipment repair as appropriate.
• Communicates with Charge Nurse regarding workflow.
• Maintains professionalism within the Center and community.
• Informs Charge Nurse of applicable day-to-day situations.
• Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• One year experience as a GI tech preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
