Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Schaumburg seeks an Endoscopy Support Technician to join the GI team and assist with patient care in the GI room. You will ensure instruments and supplies are ready, participate in room setup and turnover, and maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma, BCLS, and at least 1 year of Endoscopic Suite experience; base pay ranges from $16.35 to $30.85 per hour, with potential shift differentials and incentives.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• BCLS Certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Endoscopic Suite.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs work related to the care and treatment of the patients in the GI room.
• Assures availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case.
• Participates in GI room set up, turnover, cleaning, and restocking.
• Maintains sterile technique in opening of surgical supplies and instrumentation.
• Cleans, prepares and decontaminates GI scopes and equipment.
• Provides for aseptic technique throughout surgical procedure in a safe, efficient manner.
• Observes, recognizes, and anticipates common surgical complications, and assists with emergency care as needed.
• Reports unusual conditions to the RN.
• Demonstrates knowledge of standard instrumentation and equipment, their functions and uses.
• Maintains documentation of biological indicators for sterile processing equipment.
• Maintains appropriate instrument sets and supplies relating to their sterility, storage, and inventory levels.
• Demonstrates ability to setup surgical trays and wrap appropriately for sterilization.
• Stocks supplies in room and blanket warmer.
• Assists with turnovers
