Job summary

Watson Clinic LLP in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to support GI procedures. You will participate in pre-admission assessments, provide pre instructions, ensure data in records, and communicate medical history to the supervising RN.

You will receive patients from GI rooms, monitor post-op conditions, document vitals, assist with transfers, ensure discharge instructions are provided, maintain infection prevention, and keep the Preop and Recovery areas safe and

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Must hold an active Florida LPN license.
• CPR, ACLS and IV Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preparation of the patient for GI procedures and pre-admission assessment.
• Receives patient from GI procedure rooms, assesses condition on admission and discharge, and documents on PACU record.
• Monitors post-op patient by taking vital signs and documenting on PACU record.
• Communicates with Procedure Room RN, CRNA or Anesthesiologist during drop off to PACU.
• Assists supervising RN or Charge Nurse with EGKs, x-rays, or transfers to hospital.
• Ensures patient discharge instructions are provided and a signed copy is placed in the doctor’s bin.
• Maintains Code Blue/code cart and infection prevention strategies.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment in Preop and Recovery areas.
