Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 in the GI Pre-Procedure unit to deliver patient-family centered care within a culturally competent, safety-focused environment. You will oversee nursing staff and collaborate with physicians to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the GI pre-procedure setting.

The role emphasizes patient education, coordination of care, and adherence to regulatory standards while supporting discharge planning and continuous improvement in care delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience is required.
• Valid State of Florida RN license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, document care, and record vital signs.
• Modify care plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review tests and reports to assess condition.
• Consult with physicians and health professionals on care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and support.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate plan of care to patients, families, and team; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and care coordination.
• Serve as a preceptor to new staff and support team training.
