Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to deliver patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, following evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service. The nurse oversees nurses and allied staff, evaluates plans, and ensures documentation and regulatory compliance.

A BSN is preferred, Florida RN license required, and ACLS/BLS certifications are expected. Two years of nursing experience is requested.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Florida RN license; ACLS and BLS from American Heart Association required.
• Two years nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop nursing care plans with documentation.
• Review diagnostic tests, consult with physicians, update care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist procedures.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate care plan to patient, family and team; HIPAA compliant.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care.
• Serve as preceptor to new staff and provide feedback.
• Adhere to policies and safeguard University assets.
