Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Gastroenterology department. You will supervise a team of Registered Nurses and Endoscopy Technicians, balancing hands-on care with administrative leadership to ensure safe, efficient daily operations and excellent patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in GI or acute care, RN licensure in California, and leadership experience. BLS/CPR and ACLS are required with a plan to obtain ART within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months.
• Five or more years of relevant experience, including GI procedure experience in acute care.
• Charge Nurse or other leadership experience.
• Experience with staff allocation and scheduling.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional information exchange with all levels of management, staff, and external agencies.
• Demonstrated hospital management skills with progressive expertise in patient care services.
