Job summary

Duke Gastroenterology Clinics of Cary & Brier Creek seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to collaborate with attending physicians in evaluating and managing patients with GI disorders. The APP will perform procedures, order labs, and provide direct patient care, primarily at the Cary Clinic with telehealth and occasional Raleigh Brier Creek visits.

Qualifications

• Education: NP requires an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's degree in Nursing.
• Education: PA requires an accredited PA program; Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Certification: BLS required.
• License: NP must have NC RN licensure and NP certification; PA must be NC-licensed and PA-C.
• Experience: 1+ years APP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician and provide quality patient care.
• Take histories, conduct exams, document data, and develop therapeutic plans.
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures to patients.
• Participate in research projects and teach students in techniques and procedures.

Education

Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing

Physician Assistants: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred
