Borland Groover, a Florida gastroenterology practice, seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) - Float to coordinate patient care under the provider's direction and support efficient flow in a fast-paced specialty setting.

The role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a patient-centered approach, with duties spanning rooming patients, vital signs, med reconciliation, education, referrals, and HIPAA compliance while maintaining high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not required.
• 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
• Ability to travel between locations.
• Strong customer service and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs, history, medications, and allergies.
• Drive patient experience by improving service quality and flow.
• Pre-check charts for upcoming visits and assist providers during exams.
• Administer medications under physician orders.
• Handle calls, messages, and triage within MA scope.
• Review instructions for medications and diet with patients.
• Process referrals to other physicians and document in EMR/HIPAA-compliant records.
• Support training and compliance initiatives as needed.
