Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Gastrointestinal Medicine. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and performing lab duties such as venipuncture and specimen handling.

You will administer medications, assist with vaccines, and coordinate referrals and scheduling while maintaining high standards of safety and patient care within the department.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice as a Medical Assistant.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, med reconciliation, health history and screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and performs lab duties, including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines; handles referrals and scheduling.
