Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the GI Lab in Libertyville, IL. This full-time role involves 40 hours per week with 8-hour shifts and potential on-call requirements. The RN will admit, interop, and recover GI patients and support a Level 1 Trauma environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in Illinois and BLS certification.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan, implement and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Continuously assesses condition changes, coordinates care and resources.
• Promotes patient safety and risk reduction.
• Coordinates discharge planning with interdisciplinary team.
• Communicates effectively and promotes collaboration within the care team.
• Demonstrates leadership in the unit and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Ensures safety culture and reports safety events as required.
• Applies ethical decision making and reflects patient-centered care principles.
• Participates in quality/process improvement activities.
