Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• C.N.A. licensure in Florida preferred.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• Certified Endoscopic Tech through Society Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates preferred.

Responsibilities

• The GI Lab technician manually cleans and disinfects the endoscopes used in GI Lab and Pulmonary procedures.
• Maintains disinfectant solutions and assists with monitoring solution quality and reprocessing effectiveness.
• Assists physicians during procedures under RN direction with biopsies, therapeutics, polypectomies, PEGs, ERCPs, EUS, and bleeding control.
• Demonstrates ability to function as an assistant in GI procedures and documents QA logs in the decontamination room.
• Promotes infection prevention and supports orientation/training of new staff.
• Works effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manages multiple priorities.

Education

High School Graduate or Equivalent

Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) licensure in Florida

BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers

Certified Endoscopic Tech through Society Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates
